We were originally planning on making it to Banff on Tuesday, but we still had to place JoJo's Hamm in a cache and check on the cache we placed downtown and I also still wanted to get some Canadiana for souvenirs, so we blew it off to get all that done without breaking our poor butts. Here's a shot of the park where we left JoJo's Hamm, in the T-Bird cache. Click for the larger version.

Next we hopped over to Olympic Plaza to try and find out if the cache we placed was still there, but despite much effort we found no evidence of it. Apparently the damned thing was muggled before anyone could even post a first-to-find. Crap. It seemed like a fantastic place to put a cache.

I wanted at least one shot of The Bay while I was in Calgary. I mean, the place is HUNDREDS of years old (not this particular one, of course.) We spent a good chunk of the day in Chinook Centre.

I got a lot of swag while there, about 1/3rd of which was for Martin. Robyn also bought me the sweetest little stuffed moose dressed in a mountie outfit! Thanks, hon! I love it! One neat thing about the mall was that the main center of the place was actually a map of the two rivers that make up downtown Calgary, the Bow and the Elbow. In the center, you can also see where they put a time capsule that won't be opened for hundreds of years. They certainly expect the mall to last a long time, don't they??

Here's a Buddha Board Robyn painted on. The whole point of this was that everything written on it is inherentely impermanent. Well, the hell with that, that's what photos are for!!

Later we headed home after picking up Talon, who had gotten a new spiffy job at an educational toy store, and after we all filled up on freezy drinks. At home we played Scrabble, which I inexplicably won, and we watched Magnetic Rose from Memories and Men With Brooms, which is supposed to be an incredibly Canadian film. I liked it a lot, if I see the DVD on sale, I might buy it, it's all about curling. Eventually the night ended and we headed to bed so that these sweet people could drag my ass to the airport at an ungodly hour.

I miss everyone. Canada is beautiful and I have some very good friends there. It's still nice to be home, though, despite the fact the kitties didn't seem to miss me at all. There are still places I'd like to visit near there, such as Banff and the Edmonton Mall, so maybe I'll visit again someday. Someday when I've forgotten how much I hate flying. ^_^
