What we didn't see...
The first place we visited was the intersection
of Laurel Canyon and Lookout Something. Supposedly many times around
midnight a ghost carriage with horses running like hell is on their
heels appears and rushes through the intersection and has caused many an
accident. Most pictures showed damn near nothing, except orbs,
which unless they're moving or halfway through something we've pretty much
proven are just the flash reflected off a piece of dust. This,
though, was somewhat interesting.
Here's what is probably a bug reflecting the flash back, but it's always hard to be
sure in these things. I show below the picture with the weirdness and the ones
before and after it. FYI, this and a lot of other pictures here I messed with the levels
on so that everything could be seen better, but that's all I ever did.
This next picture is a generic orb picture, but it could possibly
be one moving, which we never automatically exclude. On closer examination,
though, it might also be just two pieces of dust near each other reflecting
the light...
Here's one for you photography buffs. What would make one shot show
a fog in it and the ones before it and after it NOT show a fog? This one
was taken at the Wattles Mansion, where there used to be a bus stop before
the city had so many complaints of screams and spooky horse noises they had
to remove the thing. Supposedly neighbors have seen a woman in white
walking across the lawn as well.
Here's a closeup of the foggy shot. There's an orb, but as I've said,
most orbs we've proven to be dust.
Now this one's kinda weird. I've PROBABLY just forgotten about something
reflective being in the shot (I figured every other shiny bit out), but
even after changing the levels I still can't see any chains holding this
reflective bit up.
I suppose there COULD be a chain on both ends of the reflector, but I
can't see it, can you?
Here's another of the two Wattles Mansion "where did the fog come from" shots.
Ordinarily I would have blamed the first ones up there on the wall reflecting,
but you see all of these have the wall in them (the ones before and after as
well) and only one is fogged. Photo people??
Close up of the last foggy shot.
ARRRGHHH!! Spooky spooky hellhound! He barked at us and when I
started taking his pictures he got all shy and left.
Here's an example of the kinds of reflectors on chains they DO have
at Wattles Mansion and not only are they different sorts (which IS
explainable...) but you can easily see the chains holding them up.
Hmmm...
The next place we went was a haunted bar. Supposedly one of the mirrors
was haunted and danged if we didn't get a weird shot in one. I was pretty
sure the mirror was clean, but for some reason weird lines showed up on
the back of Richard's shirt in the reflection, even though we never actually
saw any. This was a quiet little mexican restaurant with a bar,
not a nightclub with lots of fancy lights going everywhere.
Offhand, I can't explain this. Can you?
Comments on all this crap should go to my LJ.
