I love going
out to Japanese restaurants, but like many of you, I don't speak Japanese. This sometimes makes it awkward
to order, since it can be a bit of a crapshoot if I don't know what something is. You don't always want
to pull the waiter aside and say "What's in this? ...And what does this mean? What exactly does this word
mean, too?" over and over again, either.
So at one point I went through the web and found some
Japanese food glossaries. They were somewhat useful, but each and every one was missing something. Not
so helpful. So, I went through multiple food glossaries and edited them all into one big and far more
complete food glossary. I convert it to a palm file and carry it around with me so that I'm never
far from a good Japanese food glossary when I go out to eat. You might want to do this, too.
Japanese Food Glossary.txt
I didn't come up with these terms and descriptions, they ARE from other web sites, but I'm making
no money off of this, not claiming it's my own, and opening more people up to the Japanese food experience.
That's a good thing, right?
